Growing a set!

I have had a chat with myself, this is something I do often, and I have come to realise that I am all smoke and piss. I have written 100 blog posts and deleted them again. It is like my own counseling service to myself. So, I have bit the bullet and published one of my blogs on the Special Hands website. I am now, sitting in my kitchen, convinced these people will think I am a self indulgent weirdo and never speak to me again.

So, I have made a promise to myself. I am going to publish the blog posts I write from now on and not delete them. Maybe someone out there will read one and it will help or make someone laugh.

I can be pretty funny, I've been known to make people snort ! I love art and music, both seem to sooth my soul. I can sing, actually, properly sing. I love singing but I rarely do it in public any more, unless there is a karaoke machine and a bottle of vodka, then that mic is mine! I lurv makeup, its my buddy. I use to be a makeup artist, I was pretty good too, I am great at face painting. kids, adults etc. Just not the prosthetic. I don't want to make anyone look like their face has been zipped open!! Halloween is a big thing in this house, solely for the face painting. In the winter I crochet blankets, there is nothing better than making the blanket you are lying under. In the summer I complain about being too fat, I am on a permanent diet, none of which ever work. I have three children who I adore but they drive me demented. They wreak my house, they wreak my head, they would break concrete, but, as they are getting older I have finally had the epiphany that they are getting older. Where once it was all holding hands and prams, the older two don't want to see me from one end of the day to the next, unless I am delivering food. As I type this the two year old is giving out because I haven't let her peel the wall paper off the wall, the eight year old is crying in the sitting room because her daddy went to work and the seven year old is in the shower sulking because I asked her to wash herself, oh and the dog is hiding outside. I may join him.

Till next time

The secret world of Snap Chat

How in the name of jayzus have I only discovered Snap Chat? The first week or so I didn't have a clue what to be doing or who to be watching but I started to discover the secretly refreshing world of Snap Chat and I am a teeny tiny bit hooked.
I had a Facebook account for years but a bazillion candy crush invites later I had enough.
Twitter's soul purpose it for reading while watching TV like Tattoo Fixers (obsession) and First Dates.
Instagram, well, its perfect really isn't it.
So, I finally got my head around Snap Chat and it is just so normal and, dare I say it about a social media site, its nice! You get to really see what people get up to, some genuinely funny people out there and some snaps are so random and hilarious they actually make me LOL.
My Snaps for now are a mix of drinking coffee and my unruly kids but I will try harder to make them even remotely more interesting. So if anyone would like to take a peek you can find me @LadyBurdie - coincidentally enough !

I look feckin fabliss

A few weeks back my beloved MUA bestie won a night for the pair of us in Powerscourt in Wicklow and tickets to the holy grail of girlie days, Pippa O'Connor Fashion Factory. It was, start to finish, amazing! On the day Cloud10 Beauty were there and I picked up a little pot of Glam Glow 'Thirsty Mud'. Now I wouldn't have taught I have particularly dry skin, my skin tends to be the typical T zone Oily, but I did feel like I had been neglecting my mush lately and it needed a nice hydrating treat.
I had heard of Glam Glow and their products but this was my first time trying it and I am hooked. I can not wait to get my hands on the rest of the products.

First off, the mud smells amazing, there is an instant coconutty (new word) smell, I initially underestimated the amount needed and ended up with far too much product on my face but I worked it down onto my neck and chest for a super hydrated top half. I really over did it first time out! After the recommended 20 minutes, which actually was more like 45 because it was such a fab cooling and soothing sensation and an amazing feeling product I didn't want to take it off. I eventually washed it off with a warm cloth. My skin looked hydrated and therefore less fine lines, there was definitely a dewy look to my skin and I felt like the dark circles under my eyes were faded and my skin felt like it was fresh and clean. I started to use the Thirsty Mud every two days and leaving it on my face, rather than washing it off after 30 minutes as I had been doing. Now as I mentioned I tend towards oily skin and as such I have several Milia (those white lumps that wont squeeze or go away) on the sides of my face and Blackheads on my nose. Nothing I had tried in the past had made a difference to these areas but, in a happy happy bonus, the Thirsty Mud seemed to be removing the Milia, several have fallen out with out any coaxing (squeezing to death) from me and I have noticed a huge improvement in the blackheads I have on my T zone. Now the Blackheads aren't gone, I don't think there is a product I haven't tried to remove them, but, there is a big difference, they are smaller, faded and my pores around my nose and to the sides of my cheeks, which are usually large, are all but faded away.
I have started using the Glam Glow Thirsty Mud mixed in with my foundation. It leaves an amazing finish on my skin, my makeup last and last and it doesn't dry out by the end of the day.
The products initially seem pricey but I have had my tub for weeks now and I use it several times a week and I would say I will get around 3/4 months out of a pot. The Glam Glow from Cloud10beauty is €56 but given the longevity of the product it works out at around €5 a week. http://www.cloud10beauty.com/glamglow-thirstymud-50ml.html
As I said I am hooked on the thirsty mud and I will be investing in more of the range, anyone buying me a birthday or Christmas pressie, you know where to go.
